Fort Drum is home to the 10th Mountain Division, one of the most deployed divisions in the US Army, training in the extreme cold weather conditions of northern New York near the Canadian border. Located near Watertown in Jefferson County, the base is close to the Thousand Islands region, the Adirondack Mountains, and Lake Ontario, offering outstanding fishing, hunting, and outdoor recreation.
